About Dr. Keri Layton
Naturopathic Medicine is a collaboration between the patient and their care team.
Dr. Layton uses motivational interviewing to help patients reduce stress and optimize diet and daily habits. She helps patients differentiate between evidence-based strategies and ineffective obstacles to wellbeing.
In recognition of the impact that stress has on her patient’s health and the time it takes to successfully teach effectively strategies, she became a
certified instructor of the Stress Management and Resiliency Training (SMART) Program
created by the Benson Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital in 2019. This is a dynamic and deeply evidence-based training in replacing the stress response with the relaxation response and addressing the cognitive processes that amplify or perpuate stress.
Keri Layton, ND graduated from
Mount Holyoke College with a degree in Neuroscience and Behavior and from Bastyr University with her Naturopathic Doctorate in 2006. She completed additional training in Integrative Family Medicine with a focus on Functional Medicine, working alongside conventional and alternative practitioners, before opening her private practice in 2008.
Dr. Layton has been actively involved in the Integrative Medicine community in RI and Massachusetts.
She served as President of the RI Association for Naturopathic Physicians, lobbying for regulation of her field and was the architect of the strategy that helped RI attain licensure.
